Sheryl Sorem, the beloved fiancée of NETRF donor Jim Jungsten, had a passion for life that included her love for her family and friends, exploring the outdoors, golf, Jimmy Buffet, and a great party. In honor of Sheryl’s spirit, the 3rd Annual Sheryl Strong Fundraiser to support NETRF will take place on Saturday, October 19, at the Northridge Country Club in Fair Oaks, California.
Sheryl was misdiagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in October 2020. After enduring months of radiation, chemotherapy, and finally surgery in July of 2021, her biopsies revealed that Sheryl had, in fact, metastatic neuroendocrine cancer.
Despite Sheryl’s passing in the summer of 2021, her legacy of strength and love lives on. Jim, Sheryl’s family and their incredible network of friends continue to raise awareness and funds for neuroendocrine research through their non-profit, “Sheryl Strong.” The foundation’s mission is clear: to support and advocate for those facing uncertainty, providing comfort and hope, just as Sheryl did.
If you’re in the Sacramento area, please don’t miss this fun-filled evening of food, friends, and amazing prizes. It’s a night to celebrate Sheryl, raise awareness for neuroendocrine cancer, and keep her vibrant spirit alive.
