Slamdunkin’ the NETs

Concord United Methodist Church
70 Concord Church Road
Roxboro, North Carolina
10 am – 3 pm Marketplace
11 am – 2 pm Hotdog lunch
Join the Pierson family for a NET cancer awareness event! Their goal is to do their part to help find a cure for this rare, incurable cancer. Neuroendocrine tumors (aka NETs) affect more people than many believe and treatment options are slim to none. More research is needed to find new treatments and to work towards a cure. There will be vendors on hand from national companies who are donating a portion of their sales to NET research.
The Hotdog Lunch will be served from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Lunch for $5 includes two hot dogs, chips, and a drink. All proceeds from lunch sales (that’s 100%!) will go to fund NET research! All of the donations from the event will be MATCHED, dollar-for-dollar, by the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation’s Spark Hope campaign.
Basketball games, ZEBRA (not Horse), will be organized throughout the day. There is something for everyone to enjoy— face painting, rock painting, music, tables with NET information will be available.
The Piersons’ goal is to educate the community about what NET cancer is (neuroendocrine tumors). This event will support research projects through the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF). Since 2005, NETRF has funded over $22 million in research around the globe. Let’s all come together and support the 171,000 Americans that are living with NETs today.
