Since 2012, Laran has worked at the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation. In her current position, Laran is actively involved in the Foundation’s effort to provide funding to cutting-edge research in hopes to ultimately discover a cure. Laran coordinates research workshops and patient education events all over the United States. Laran is passionate about directing her work efforts to improve NET research, education, and advocacy for the NET community.

Laran received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Akron, where she held University Honors Scholar Distinction and graduated summa cum laude in 2010. Also in 2010, she was awarded a clinical research assistant and psychometrician position in the Department of Psychiatry, Pediatric Psychopharmacology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Through this opportunity, Laran worked with leading researchers in the areas of psychiatry, clinical psychology, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), as well as numerous neuroimaging programs at both MGH and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
