In Loving Memory of Hector Loya

Honoring the loving memory of

             Hector Loya

September 4, 1956 – May 20, 2023

Please join us in honoring Hector’s legacy by supporting the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (link below).

Hector was the personification of a self-made man. After moving to California from Chihuahua, Mexico, when he was just 20, Hector joined the construction business and went on to master the craft of pipeline engineering. After meeting and marrying the love of his life, Christy, Hector started Atlas Underground, a highly regarded pipeline contracting company.

Hector approached every job, big or small, like it was his first and only job. He was a true perfectionist. For more than 20 years, Hector’s company was one of just 24 contractors officially sanctioned by the City of Los Angeles to respond and repair when emergencies struck that demanded his expertise.

Hector was an extraordinary gardener and loved nothing more than planning his landscape design for the family home, carefully nurturing the plants, flowers and bushes to bring glorious beauty to their outside oasis.

He was the beloved husband of Christy for 34 years, with whom he shared two beautiful daughters, Amanda and Christina.

Hector was diagnosed in June of 2020 with stage IV pNETs. He was predeceased by his devoted parents, Florencio and Guadalupe, his sister Eduwigis, and leaves behind three beloved brothers Reynaldo, Rodolfo and Roberto as well as five adoring sisters: Rosa, Virginia, Maria, Martha and Guadalupe.
