Since 2012, Laran has worked at the NET Research Foundation, first as the Development and Communications Coordinator and now as the Associate Director of Development and Outreach. In her current position, Laran is actively involved in the NET Research Foundation’s effort to provide funding to cutting edge research in hopes to ultimately discover a cure. As the Associate Director of Development and Outreach, Laran actively works in a development role to support NET research, and coordinate fundraising events, research workshops, and patient education events all over the United States. Laran is passionate about directing her work efforts to improving NET research, education, and advocacy for the NET community.
Laran received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Akron, where she held University Honors Scholar Distinction and graduated summa cum laude in 2010. Also in 2010, she was awarded a clinical research assistant and psychometrician position in the Department of Psychiatry, Pediatric Psychopharmacology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Through this opportunity, Laran worked with leading researchers in the areas of psychiatry, clinical psychology, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), as well as numerous neuroimaging programs at both MGH and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Originally from East Liverpool, Ohio, Laran currently resides in South Boston. When not working, she enjoys adventuring to international destinations. Her favorite country is Ireland.
