On May 16, 2018, NETRF released its annual Request for Applications (RFA) and invited investigators and teams of investigators from around the world to submit Letters of Intent (LOIs) describing novel and transformative research ideas for neuroendocrine cancers. Similar to last year, we continue to offer three types of awards ranging from $50,000 to $1.2 million.

“We are thrilled and honored to have received a record number of LOIs this year, 59% more compared to last year,” says Effie Tzameli, PhD, Director of Research. ” The LOIs came from 22 states and 16 different countries. We were also excited to see the highest number of new applicants. ”

“We see the increase in requests for funding from throughout the world as evidence that we have brought more attention to the urgent need to expand neuroendocrine tumor research,” said Elyse Gellerman, NETRF Chief Executive Officer. ” That’s a wonderful opportunity for those who want to help us transform the landscape of neuroendocrine tumors with innovative science. We are grateful to the many donors who support our important work.”

As NETRF moves forward with the evaluation process, we want to wholeheartedly thank our Scientific Advisors for their time and effort during the grant process, and all the external reviewers who will be reviewing the full applications. We also want to thank all the applicants for their interest in our funding opportunities and for devoting their careers to NET research.
