NETRF is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Nuclear Medicine Pilot Research Grant in Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs), developed in partnership with The Education and Research Foundation for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (ERF). This funding opportunity is designed to help early-career scientists launch novel and innovative research projects that could lead to larger grants from other foundations, corporations, or government agencies. NETRF has funded this grant in collaboration with ERF since 2016; ERF reviews applications and selects the grantee.
Applications are due August 31, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. E.S.T.
About the Grant
The award will provide $100,000 over two years to support groundbreaking research in nuclear medicine for NETs. These funds can be used for salaries, research costs, and travel, with indirect expenses capped at 5%.
The selected investigator will also participate in the annual NETRF Research Symposium to share progress and findings, ensuring that this work benefits both the research community and patients.
Who Should Apply
We’re looking for basic or clinical scientists who:
- Hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent
- Are no more than five years post-training
- Have a full-time faculty (or equivalent) position at a non-profit, educational institution (outside of government agencies)
- Have not served as PI of a grant of more than $100,000 in a single year
- Demonstrate strong potential in nuclear medicine/molecular imaging research for NETs
Why This Matters
This grant is more than just financial support; it’s a launchpad for ideas that can change the future of NET care. We aim to empower emerging scientists to pursue research that is innovative, original, and highly relevant to advancing nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.
By fostering new talent and supporting high-impact projects, we are investing in discoveries that could lead to better diagnostics, treatments, and outcomes for people living with NETs.
