We Need Your Help!
Dear Family and Friends,
We hope you and your family continue to be safe during the pandemic. As you may know, we were unable to host our 2nd Annual Fight NET Cancer with Katherine event this past summer at the Severna Park Taphouse due to the pandemic. We were all disappointed but knew it was the right course to take. However, we have recently been presented with an exciting opportunity that we are eager to share.
With the incredible generosity of our community, the 2019 Fight NET Cancer with Katherine fundraiser surpassed all expectations by raising more than $73,000 for the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation. With our results, NETRF has invited us to fund a NET research project in honor of Katherine.
NETRF scientific advisors have a process on how they choose the most promising research to fund. One type of research project is a Pilot Project and it costs $100,000. The research project that could potentially be named after Katherine would be a pilot project focused on her rare type of cancer, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs). Our goal is to raise $27,000 (added to $73,000 raised) which would total the $100,000 needed to fund our own Katherine Mueller NET Research Project.
“To date, NETRF has funded over $26 million in NET research. During my 2 years of battling cancer, I have directly benefited in many ways from the research accomplished by NETRF funded projects. I know how critical it is to support these scientists and studies focused on improving and expanding treatment options for NETs, because my life, and the lives of countless others, depend on it.”
We are so thrilled with this opportunity to fund near-future NET research and we are hopeful that we can count on your support once again to make this dream a reality. Join us in supporting the Katherine Mueller NET Research Fund. Here’s how to get involved:
