Joe Rivard’s true joy was being with his family. He was a devoted husband to Janet for 47 years, father of 4 and grandfather of 7. The beach was his happy place. Joe also enjoyed traveling, long walks, and back road motorcycle rides.
He led a life helping others fulfill their dreams through entrepreneurship, and enabling a lifestyle of exploring the world through RV living. His contagious smile and laugh spread joy to all he interacted with. He will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched, especially his wife, 3 daughters and son, relatives, co-workers and life-long friends. Life is short, and tomorrow isn’t promised.
Our wish for the George Joseph Rivard Everlasting Impact Tribute Fund is to help others fighting this terrible disease to benefit from the research this foundation offers.
In late 2021, Joe was diagnosed with atypical carcinoid neuroendocrine tumor (NET), a rare form of lung cancer. Surgery was not an option due to the location of the tumor. For 9 months from his diagnosis, he fought courageously, enduring chemotherapy, and placement of a lung stent. His faith gave him strength to endure treatments, but ultimately, we knew there would be no cure for his cancer. On July 5, 2022, he lost his battle with cancer at the age of 65.
One can never truly understand the magnitude of support needed until your life depends on it. By funding NET research, we have the opportunity to raise awareness of this rare type of tumor, in hopes that one day more will be known about this type of cancer so we can find a cure.
