NETRF TAKES TO THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE
NETRF played a meaningful and visible role at the 14th Annual European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) Conference, March 8-10, 2017, in Barcelona, Spain. Our U.S. contingent participated at the podium, in panels, and focused discussions on strengthening ties worldwide in the search for scientific advances in NETs. (MORE)

PATIENT VOICES AT ENETS 

For the first time, the International Neuroendocrine Cancer Alliance (INCA), ­­­ a global voice in support of neuroendocrine cancer patients, played a role in the 14th Annual European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) Conference. A joint INCA/ENETS symposium was held on the final day of the ENETS Conference to prioritize and address unmet needs. (MORE)
OPPOSITION GROWS TO PROPOSED NIH CUTS

Advocates rally for federal funding of cancer research

The White House released a 2018 budget outline in mid-March that cuts National Institutes of Health (NIH) spending by nearly 20 percent. NETRF shares the concern expressed by other cancer-related organizations and our collaborators that a funding decrease of this magnitude could disrupt, even derail, America’s cancer investigators and research institutions. (MORE)

CYCLING EVENT RAISES $100K 
Congratulations to Cycle for Survival Team NET NYC and Boston, led by Dave McCoy, on their amazing fundraising efforts to support the work of Dr. Diane Reidy-Lagunes! To date, Team NET has nearly raised $100,000 to support Dr. Reidy-Lagunes' research. Using laboratory models, Dr. Reidy-Lagunes and her team are evaluating innovative imaging and targeted-therapy approaches—ultimately leading to a better, more personalized way of managing these difficult-to-treat pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
