March 9th marked the opening day of the 13th Annual European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) Conference! Nearly 2,000 people, representing a multitude of countries and specialties, are attending this exciting three day conference. Attendees include oncologists, endocrinologists, nurses, patient advocates, postgraduates, and NET-focused organizations, all with a focus on NET treatment and research.
Topics covered over the span of the conference include the latest in understanding tumor biology, as well as dialogue in the relevant aspects of NET advances in diagnostics and therapeutics. Numerous abstracts and research results are on display; ENETS received the largest amount of abstract submissions ever, numbering well over 300 submissions. This conference demonstrates worldwide participation and interest in NET research, an evident display of growing interest in this rare disease space.
NETRF has a presence at the conference, with two staff members attending and a nonprofit booth. We are spending our three days meeting and connecting with the numerous researchers and clinicians who are present at the conference. We concluded our first day of the conference with the International Neuroendocrine Cancer Alliance (INCA) over dinner.
